My piccolo headjoints can be made to fit any instrument. As with my flutes, I try to make my piccolos sound rich and warm. I have found the best sound to come from an embouchure shaped like those on Rudall Carte piccolos from the early years of this century. As you can see from this picture, the embouchure hole on my piccolo heads is oval, rather than rectangular as is common today.
